Network Platform Manager - Hybrid - Greater Manchester.

£80k to 85k, 20% bonus, 5k car, excellent pension and additional benefits.


This role is working within a highly complex enterprise level multi site network environment for a critical national infrastructure organisation with the role focussed on leadership, strategic capability, road maps and project delivery not necessarily the pure operational side of networks.

The individual in this role needs to understand how operational technology ( OT ) fits in with IT. You will need to have delivered work or worked in environments that run with operational technology, for example manufacturing, telecommunications, utilities, airports to name a few.

As the Network Platform Manager you will need to have been involved in large scale complex networks and the delivery of complex projects involving architecture, technical engineers, non technical stakeholders, 3rd parties.

You will need to be able to understand and engage with the architects & technologists, guiding thinking but you do not need to be hands on technically in this role, this is about driving the area forward strategically, building strong business & stakeholder relationships and delivering strong network project capability.

As the Network Platform manager you will own the design and change of the group Network Platforms end to end and lead a team of network architects guiding solution thinking alongside technical infrastructure architects to ensure the best fit solution, in terms of reliability, scalability, security and cost effectiveness in support of the desired business outcome.

You will understand how the current network platform constraints and issues fit into a roadmap alongside strategic network development that is driven by the business goals and objectives.

As part of this you will lead people so they are clear on the direction and roadmap, whilst challenging them to make sure your network vision remains on course and empowering them to drive their specific areas forward.


To be successful in this role you will need as much of the following as possible:

• Experience in architecting, planning and implementing change in a complex mission critical network environment, encompassing multiple large campus sites, datacentre and cloud networking.
• Delivery of complex network projects with high value and business impact.
• The ability to engage and communicate clearly, with impact at all levels of stakeholders.
• Experience of working in a large, complex, regulated, asset-based environments.
• Ability to lead and manage directly and via matrix stakeholder management structure.
• Knowledge of operational technology - OT
• Experienced in people leadership and empowering teams to deliver successfully
• Knowledge of new and emerging technology trends and roadmaps
