Technical Delivery Advisor - Day Rate Interim 6 months - Outside IR35 - Hybrid - Manchester.

This work is on a 60m technology transformation programme that is critical to the future success of the organisation.

The application stack for the programme consists of market-leading CRM and integration platforms and industry-specific, niche applications. These include configured purchased, out-of-the-box apps, to bespoke developed apps and integrations. These are being implemented as a hybrid between Agile and waterfall by a number of different vendors.

As the Technical Delivery Advisor (TDA) / Software Delivery Consultant you will need to have significant experience of the whole product lifecycle of delivering built or bought application solutions.

As the TDA you will provide best practice, real-world advice and guidance to the Technical Delivery Team, the Programme delivery teams and the vendors and partners.

You helping advise, devise and review solutions to address technical and delivery challenges across our vendors and their products.

Working with the Programme, Project Managers, Scrum Masters and vendors to ensure that the sprints and workloads are completed on-time and to-budget and to provide support to challenge the vendors’ delivery teams to ensure timely progress.

Taking an active role in our Programme Architecture Boards; Providing recommendations to the Programme Design Lead. Understand the Architecture Team’s and the development and testing team’s deliverables and assist them in delivering solutions.

This work would potentially suit someone from a technical software development background who has some architecture experience, having possibly operated as a Head of / Director of Development/Software/Engineering or similar position.

You will ideally have as much of the following background as possible:
  • Experience with all varieties of the Software Lifecycle from buy/build, through to support and eventual retirement.
  • Experience in the procurement of software related services from requirements gathering to going to market and evaluating bids.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the commonly used Architectural and development methods and tools.
  • Knowledge and experience of application development methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Experience of working in a business-focussed environment with exposure to the implementation of SaaS solutions, package applications, bespoke software solutions and enterprise application integration.
  • Experience with designing innovative application solutions that fit within business and technical constraints.
  • Familiarity with security concepts such as RBAC, including secure design and implementation.
  • Collaborating with tech leads and other architects to join-up solutions..
  • Championing quality assurance and best practices and mentoring individuals in their application.
  • Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders and vendors at all levels
